The story of one unfinished game
- The story of one project
- Where to start? Oh yeah, the year was 2003, we were siting in a pub, we were pregnant with all sort of ideas and full of beer when my friend Filip Novy mumble something like "Lets make a Game". It could have been just another shout in the dark, but the very next and painful morning, with a huge headache and swollen tongue, we started to lay down the first ideas and draw some artwork's. It took another week or two before we show it to two other guys. Michal Suchanek, incredibly talented character artist and Ondrej Maatoha, who is something like a jedi master when it comes to game ideas, screenplay and game play.
The four of us put together a such a stunning concept with a strong original storyline that we realize that to make this game we need some financial background, so that we can spend every single hour creating our "precious" game:)
Our ambition just went beyond our capacity and possibilities. We came to a point where majority of projects end. But a small chance appeared. One smaller Czech game publisher show some interest. Than another publisher came up. So we tried very hard to present our project the best we could. And I have to say that Ondrej and other guys did awesome job on the Design document and Game play.
The result? Nothing. We just have been caught in some weird merry go round. So while we were heading to a perfect 3D RPG with a strong storyline, our publishers was just trying to force us in to their "view of market" and only try to sell us some crappy engine.
So we have decided throw away this "opportunity". Why? Because we really didn't want to for fill somebody's stupid idea of a second-rate game. Anyone who read this far a did try to create something original and distinctive will know what I am talking about. Its like if they took your baby and cut off his legs and arms, chop of his balls and sell it. NEVER!
Despite the fact that its a long time since we try to fought this war I think there is still a future for this project. We have things like Unreal Engine, we have Kickstarter and many more... Who knows, maybe some day :)

"This is ridiculous. Just ridiculous! A huge killer demon from the ancient Babylon kills like twenty people and tears down a fire station. I mean... THAT is a problem, right? But, no. For the cops, the problem seems to be that I have set few things on fire and scared this old lady. Sometimes I hate my job. Anyway... If I don't get my candies, I'm walking outta here right through this wall."Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2013 -

In this picture Sir Winston Churchill is doing the “peace fingers”. The hidden joke in this picture is that when you imagine the Wold war II as rock-paper-scissors game, Churchills team was doing the scissors and Hitlers team was doing the paper, and in the end Scissors beat paperCharacter Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
This is the first picture form project “About toys”. I cal it “It likes candy” and the idea turns around traditional Russian toy Matryoshka witch is made as a set of wooden dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside another. I want to made a little scary character, witch actually lives inside this toy with unstoppable taste for candy and anything witch is sweet. So its not so scary after all…Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
This is a caricature of Sir. Winston Churchill displaying him as a bust just standing on his place, minding his own business, while he is cruelly attacked by a pigeon.Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
I start to do this picture just for fun and relax during the work on “It likes candy” and it should be only a Z-brush head. But after it was finished I realize it have some potential and make a portrait out of it. The lights, composition an whole look is inspired by the old posters with Boris Karloff.Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
Here’s my new artwork that I’ve been working on over the last couple days. It was done using ZBrush, 3ds max and Photoshop for the postproduction. I call it “Happy birthday Mr. Romero” and it’s a tribute to George A. Romero and his outstanding Filmography. He is 68 now and still making great movies and making us scared…Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
This poster has arisen as an side effect during the work on my Goon project. I just took the original render of this zombie an play with it in Photoshop. This whole thing is inspired by old B-movie posters, which I tend to be keen on : )Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
Its a portrait of Marv from Sin City, certainly my favorite character from that series. I want to dedicate this one to Frank Miller and his outstanding artworks. The very base model was made in 3dsmax and then sculpt in Zbrush and export back to max. Zbrush was also used to generate displace map. The rest were done in Photoshop. Finally I render it with Mental Ray.Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -
I decided to make some mattepainting and find the forum of David Edwards and his contest (which is really great). I start with the concept of old, destroyed catedral in midlle of the ruined city. I have add some 3D elements, like the buildings and some debris on the floor…Digital Art2012 -
Portrait of a Replicant. To make this portrait I used 3DsMax-8 and for the render Brazil r/s. There is also some Z-brush details for the texture. Finally I used Photoshop to done some post-production.Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012
