I’m finally doing some personal work again. It has started very innocently. I was just relaxing at the Sunday afternoon and I opened the Zbrush and sculpt a head. It looked pretty good so a have decided to add the body. Ok, and then a hat. And the next thing I know is that I’m working on the full male character with the proper mesh topology, UVs and Hires textures
). I have also spoke with my friend loocas and set out a deal that we will try to make a short animation, some sort of teaser, together. So loocas will hopefully deliver the rigs and the animation and I will try to make it look as realistic and beautiful as I possibly could. Its pretty challenging in the light of the facts that we are making this project in our spare time and we dream about the quality somewhere between Blur and Blizzard
) . But who need to sleep when you can put your veins on to the coffee infusion, right? Heh, just kiding. Anyway I’m really looking forward to see this finished though the finish is somewhere over the horizont…

I just cant wait and started to paint some textures. Its a very satisfying part of the work for me. All you need is a good reference, tablet and then you just bringing your character to life. Combine that with the foggy, cold weather, bottle of a good Rum and play yourself some Tom Waits music and you got a perfect Sunday

Little test on the shaders and textures. The skin shader need some improvement and I also need to add some hair and fur on his head and arms and perhaps even on the chest. Tattoo would be nice

So this is the update that I have made over the weekend. I have set up a goal that at the end of Sunday I will have be done with the textures. At least at some stage of the result. Looking on this pictures i have made I have to confess that I’m not very happy with the trousers, but not only with the textures, but with the whole shape. I think that the boots, the belt and the shirt works for now. But the another thing that needs some correction is the neck. The sinew on the neck is to strong and I will probably make it look more smooth or “fat” if you want. And of course those teeth is still not textures/shaded so I have to work on those also… I am thinking about some hair as well, specialy on the chest and the arms

Hi guys,
I haven’t post here for nearly a month so I have decided to show you guys some small update. The thing is that in the last month i have been working on the Storyboards for this Goon project and believe me it is not that easy. I was drawing, sketching a animating with bipeds like crazy and I ended up with the total bull shit
Those scenes just doesn’t make sence and generally was a crap
) But THE GOOD NEWS is that one my friends, Jan Humpal, who is wayyy better then me in this film stuff things, offer me help and he is doing some off-line version of the storyboard right now! So it might be a happy end after all. Cool…
)
This picture is form the sotryboard so it might ended up little bit differently in the end. It’s more like a light test…

Hi there ladies
As usual I were bussy in the work and didnt have much time to do my own stuff but my kung fu is strong and here I am with some 3D environment „concepts“ to the sweet GOON project. In this seven pictures you can see pretty much the major space where will the story take a place. The next step will be setting up the cameras and render a very firts „animatic“ of this short film. I start to work on some zombie hands for the scene where some undeath dude walks down the stairs to the rail. The camera here is set up as a P.O.V from the zombies eyes so we will see only its hands… I hope I will finish this shot very soon. there is tons of work ahead

This all looks fantastic! The thought of making a teaser of the Goon cartoon makes me wanna jump to the moon and from there pee on the looneytoons XD. I know it seems nearly impossible but this project is still alive! I will not bother you with some crazy details of what happened and why I have stopped working on this project for nearly a year! We can talk about this in a bar, bending over a sixth beer where you can hurt me in person and tell me that I am a lazy idiot
Anyway, I am so happy whit this new update because this one is very important. Its….wait for it….finished animatic!!! I mean, nearly finished. There is no sound, and I will probably change some details once all the shots will be finished. But this is great. A huge step forward for me, and for this project…

From the hidden deep underground vault, where I am creating this short movie comes another piece of rotten and decayed stuff. To be specific, one completely new image and one you have seen before but almost finished. Both of this images are from the “Zombie opening” sequence so I guess this will be the first one finished. Now there is only the Zombie it self missing
but that is just a small detail.
